WhatsApp: two-step verification approach on PC and the Web
Security will improve on WhatsApp for both PC/Mac version and web usage with the addition of two-step verification. This is already available in the mobile messaging application.
Better security for WhatsApp
The website WABetaInfo, who digs into the WhatsApp app to find what’s to come, has spotted a new option in the works that will enable two-step verification on both the PC/Mac app and the web version. It will be a six-digit side, as is already the case on the iOS and Android app. An option will allow the code to be changed if the user deems it necessary.
This extra security is necessary in today’s attacking world. The objective is to annoy a hacker who is trying to access your account and therefore your conversations with your friends and family. The two-step verification will represent a blockage for the hacker because he will not have the code to unlock the content of the messaging. He will therefore not be able to read your messages.
The feature is in testing right now, but there is no information on availability for everyone. We can imagine that this will be a reality within a few months. WhatsApp has not yet communicated publicly on the subject.
