WhatsApp rolls out poll function in app: this is how it works

It’s been in the air for a while, now it’s final. You can now use the poll function in WhatsApp. This allows you to submit a question in an individual or group conversation, for others to vote on.

Poll in WhatsApp

From now on you can use a new function in WhatsApp. Users can send a poll in a conversation. This gives you insight into what the other person thinks about a certain statement. The feature was previously tested by WhatsApp. It is possible to share a poll in a group conversation, but also in an individual conversation, although the question is what exactly the added value of this is in a one-on-one conversation. Others can see what has been voted and by whom. You can of course see this yourself.

Creating a poll is easy. You tap on the paper clip, where you will find the option ‘poll’. You can then create a statement and add two or more answer options. The feature is now available on both the Android app and iOS. The function is made available automatically. So it is not necessary to download an app update from the Google Play Store.
