WhatsApp replaces all current emoji with new animations
WhatsApp is working on an update that should put an end to the emojis as we know them today. Instead, the app comes with moving emoticons. What do they look like?

WhatsApp is working on new emojis
WhatsApp is working on a new update aimed at introducing a new kind of emojis. The brand new smileys are said to be animated pictures, as we already see at Telegram. When you send an emoji with the new version of WhatsApp, it appears relatively large in the chat with animations. These new emojis should replace the current smileys.
The new emojis have surfaced in a recent beta for WhatsApp Web and for WhatsApp on laptops or computers. The new animations will probably also come to WhatsApp on your iPhone. These new emojis are mainly intended to make conversations more fun. It is (still) unclear why WhatsApp has chosen to ban the current smileys.
Animated emojis send by themselves
Do you think the huge animated smileys are a bit too much? Then there is bad news, because in the new version of WhatsApp, the animated emoji will soon be sent automatically. You can then not decide for yourself whether you want to send the ‘old’ smileys or go for the new animated emojis.
It is quite possible that choosing the type of emoji will still be added in the final update of WhatsApp. The animated emojis have now surfaced in a test version of WhatsApp. That means there is still room to introduce (or remove) certain features before the final release. In any case, it is to be hoped that WhatsApp will soon let you choose which variant of emojis you want to see.
More new features are coming to WhatsApp
It remains to be seen when WhatsApp will release the new animated emojis to the general public. The fact that the function is now in a test version means that the company is busy working on it. It is therefore expected that it will not be long before we can use the function.
