The forgotten phone: Motorola C200 from 2003

In 2003, the Motorola brand launched a new phone. We were able to get acquainted with the Motorola C200, a phone with a rather dull, monotonous design. Nevertheless, the manufacturer scored with this device. We discuss the Motorola C200 in this edition of ‘The Forgotten Phone’.

Motorola is now mainly known for the G and Edge series, the brand also released phones many years ago. An example of this is the Motorola C200, a phone that appeared in the year 2003. The device had a boring, monotonous design, but with a simple design that was well liked by the buyers. Motorola’s C200 is the company’s third best-selling mobile phone. Especially the sturdy design was praised by the users.

The Motorola C200 by itself didn’t have much to offer. It was all straight forward. This resulted in a device with a small, monochrome screen that had a size of 64 x 98 pixels. The screen could show up to five lines and had an aspect ratio of 3:2. The Motorola C200 was 20 millimeters thick, 105 millimeters long and 44 millimeters wide. Under the housing there was room for a 700 mAh battery that lasted a very long time for many.

As mentioned, the Motorola C200 had little else to offer. No Bluetooth, camera or details. Although, no details… the C200 featured three different games, including Snake. Just so famous from Nokia. Motorola released the Motorola C200 in different colors. We saw it in blue, purple, yellow, silver and black.
