WhatsApp lets you recover deleted messages

If you accidentally deleted an app, you can restore it in WhatsApp. That now works for some users of WhatsApp Beta. You have up to a few seconds to recover the message.

A mistake happens quickly, and that is also the case on WhatsApp. You may have deleted an app, only to find that you selected and deleted the wrong message. WhatsApp now gives users the chance to undo a deletion, WABetaInfo knows.

You can still delete a message by long-pressing it and then pressing the trash bar icon. Then choose whether you want to delete the message only for yourself or for everyone. A new feature is that after deleting a bar appears at the bottom with an ‘Undo’ button. You then have a few seconds to retrieve the app.

Limited availability

The feature is currently available to WhatsApp beta users and with version 2.22.13.5. However, it only works for some users for the time being, because we couldn’t get the feature to work at the editors. The feature is gradually being activated by WhatsApp on more and more phones, so it should be available to those who have the beta over the next few days. It is unknown when it will also be available in the stable version.
