WhatsApp becomes chargeable? It’s TF1 who says it!
So if Uncle Denis and his anise-scented breath (or Scottish malt, depending on the time of day and the force of the wind) tells you that WhatsApp will become chargeable, don’t panic: this is a big fake. Yet the message in question assures you: “we talked about it today on the TF1 newspaper“! Unstoppable, because everyone knows that Marie-Sophie Lacarrau or Gilles Bouleau represents the quintessence of journalistic truth.
Well, in writing we do not really know, because the last one to have lit TF1 other than for a football match retired in 2012. There would however be a trick according to the BAC -8 which created this rumor “two point zero ”: send the message to 10 contacts to prove your attendance and continue to use your account in“ free ”mode. Logic being on vacation, we just point out that charging people who don’t use the service is very unlikely to work in our capitalist world.

On its blog, WhatsApp therefore responded by posting an identical post from 2013! And even if the app plans to charge companies for a service offering more options, Uncle Denis will be able to continue to send you pictures of the 205 Junior that he has been retyping since 2002. Isn’t life good?
And to note the appearance of a new rumor on WhatsApp… As often, the application which belongs to Facebook is a victim of its success. This is how we could read here and there that WhatsApp was going to close shop! The application will indeed stop working, but only on older devices …
WhatsApp takes the lead in the wing
So of course we hear anything and everything on WhatsApp, but it must be said that the application is a victim of its success with its two billion regular users around the world. A hegemony which has recently taken a few hits to the liver. The application has indeed been singled out because it is a gateway for Pegasus and Predator malware, but it is also a privileged means for phishing attacks. Earlier this year, there was also the “misunderstanding” about sharing information with Facebook. Even if the company backtracked (WhatsApp had to stop working for those who did not accept the new conditions of use), this story damaged the brand image of the app as much as it is not that discreet. And then recently, during the “Facebook-Instagram-WhatsApp” crash on the night of October 4 to 5, 2021, Telegram recovered more than 70 million more users in its ranks. Signal is also gaining ground and TikTok, which is not a basic messaging system, has 1 billion users.
