WhatsApp allows app group administrators to delete messages from everyone

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that should soon be available to app group administrators. In a WhatsApp group conversation, it then becomes possible for administrators to delete messages from others.

The administrators of chat groups on WhatsApp will have more options in the future. In group conversations, they will soon be able to intervene and remove messages from other members from a conversation. The feature has surfaced in the latest beta version of the messaging service on WhatsApp. That means that the function is currently being tested, and it is not yet available to everyone immediately.

If a message has been deleted by an administrator, the sender of the message will see that the message has been deleted by an administrator. For now, it is still under development and it is unclear when WhatsApp will make the feature available to everyone. The source of this post also reports that WhatsApp Desktop (beta) gives users longer time to delete messages from themselves. A time of 7 days and 8 hours is used here. Now it’s just over an hour.
