Apple in 2022: we expect these products (and events)

In an average year, Apple hosts four events. There is usually a spring event in March, a WWDC in June, a September keynote featuring new iPhones, and an October event targeting new Macs.

Because Apple likes to stick to traditions and there have been many rumors about new products, we can already make a good estimate of Apple’s plans for the next calendar year. In the article below you can read about the Apple events that we expect in 2022.

Rumor: iPhone 14 (Max) retains design with notch

iPhone 14 notch

While most Android manufacturers have since moved away from the notch, the iPhone still has a bite out of the screen. And we also see the much-discussed notch on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, various sources report.

According to several sources – including the reliable Ming-Chi Kuo and the Korean The Elec – the major design change is only for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This means that the two cheaper models (the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max) have a notch design.

iOS 16 not coming to iPhone 6S (Plus) and first iPhone SE

Review update iPhone 6s

According to the French website iPhoneSoft the end is near for the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and the first iPhone SE. These smartphones would not receive support for iOS 16 next year.

So they are probably stuck on iOS 15. That’s no shame, because the iPhone 6 series dates back to 2015. The iPhone SE followed in 2016. The phones ran on iOS 9 at launch and therefore received six major iOS updates.

New 27-inch iMac gets different colors (and gets thinner)

upgrade to imac 2021 or not?

The new 27-inch iMac is likely to appear in the spring of 2022. Apple is expected to officially unveil the new desktop at a spring event. The iMac will then (we hope) hit the market sometime between the end of March and the end of June next year.

Apple is going to make a few changes: The new iMac will be thinner and probably get different colors. Whether the 27-inch iMac will have the same colors as the 24-inch version remains to be seen.

Will the new 27-inch iMac come in different colors?
