Google I/O 2022: These are the most important announcements

While the weather has been in a drought for some time now, Google came out with a veritable deluge of new announcements and teasers during I/O 2022. Our editors have listed the most important novelties for you:

  • Google Pixel 6a: Google’s new mid-range phone that works with the Tensor chipset has been introduced. It costs 459 euros.
  • Pixel 7 design unveiling: We got to see a teaser of the Pixel 7 that revealed the design. The design of the phone shows many differences from previous renders.
  • Google Pixel Buds: The new earbuds with active noise canceling and support for multi-point connection.
  • Google Pixel Watch teaser: The announcement of the Pixel Watch hasn’t come yet, but Google did tease its first watch.
  • Augmented reality glasses: A lot of information is still missing about this part, but we were shown a prototype of Google AR glasses. He works with Translate and Live Transcription.
  • Pixel tablet: This mysterious tablet with an unknown name briefly appeared during a teaser. Few details are known yet.

Of course there were more interesting moments during the opening keynote. Google is bringing better representation of all skin tones to its services and an alternative to the “Hey Google” phrase is coming with the Assistant. You can view all other announcements from Google I/O in this overview.
