Drivers collect up to 365 euros per year thanks to the GHG quota

Anyone who drives an e-car can secure a few hundred euros per year with the GHG quota. This is the greenhouse gas reduction quota that is sold, so to speak, to companies that produce too much carbon dioxide (CO2) emit and thus buy lower emissions. Since the CO2-Price keeps rising, a nice little penny comes up every year.

GHG quota brings e-car drivers a lot of money

For several months now, I’ve been working intensively on purchasing an electric car. While researching, I quickly came across the topic of GHG quota and initially ignored it. Meanwhile they are CO2-Prices for companies but so high that it generates a lot of money.

Theoretically, you could also submit the GHG quota to the Federal Environment Agency yourself and try to get a good quota market price. In the case of a single person, the effort for companies that this CO2-Buy certificates, but way too big. That is why there are now some middlemen. They do the work for you, collect CO on a large scale2-Savings and can sell these to companies in a package.

And it’s worth it. Depending on the provider, you can earn up to 365 euros per year. The buyers guarantee a certain amount, for example 250 euros, the rest is then based on a flexible rate. It always depends on how well the price is negotiated. The mediator receives a part. Depending on the provider, this is 17.5 to 25 percent. You will then simply get the rest of the money paid out. Does the CO2-Price, then of course there will be more money in the future.

Where can I apply for the GHG quota?

I deliberately do not name a specific provider, as this one currently sprouting like mushrooms from the ground. Just yesterday, a well-known e-mobility YouTuber presented his company that does just that. This made me aware of the topic again, as the prices are now really high.

Who owns an e-car and still the GHG quota for 2021 can still apply for it. Just take a look at the different providers and try it out. When I have my e-car at the latest, I’ll try it out. Then I can report in detail about the process and whether it is really as easy as the middlemen promise. Incidentally, plug-in hybrids cannot participate. These may even soon be eliminated from the environmental bonus.
