Sky will offer two different versions of its WOW streaming service in the future. The previously known subscription with all functions is then called WOW Premium and remains ad-free. The company adds a cheaper, ad-supported subscription to that. All information at a glance.
WOW will soon be available as a premium version. Strictly speaking, the streaming provider Sky is adding one to its previous offer new option added. The company is renaming the previous WOW subscription Premium and is offering a cheaper basic version that contains fewer functions and advertising.

What is WOW Premium?
Basically, Sky simply changes the name of the previous WOW subscription. This means that content and quality remain the same for premium customers. You can also use two streams in Full HD quality per account. The subscription is still ad-free. The premium version will also be available for all WOW packages.
A new addition is a basic model that is cheaper in price. In return, users can only obtain content via one stream per account. The quality reaches a maximum of HD, i.e. 720p. There are also limitations with the sound.
Basic offer with advertising
While premium customers can continue to use the offer without advertising, users of the cheaper version will have to wait for advertising clips before they can access the content. However, it is not yet clear how long the advertising blocks actually are. Incidentally, Sky continues to run advertising trailers for WOW series, films and live events on both subscriptions.
How much does a WOW Premium subscription cost?
So far, Sky has only announced that the new basic version will cost five euros less than the ad-free version. However, the exact price has not yet been determined.
Existing customers who are already using WOW to the full extent will be automatically upgraded to Premium at the usual monthly price in the coming days. You can then view the changes in your customer account. You can also cancel the ad-free subscription at any time and switch to the basic model at a lower price.
In the future, all users can also decide to upgrade the basic version to WOW Premium. However, it is not yet clear when new customers will be able to get the new subscriptions. According to Sky, it will be ready in the next few weeks.
Interested parties who previously take out one of the various WOW subscriptions will also be automatically upgraded to Premium at the appropriate time.
