Vivo patents phone with detachable camera with battery

Vivo has again filed a patent for a smartphone with a detachable camera module. This time it is about an advanced concept and a smartphone with a completely borderless screen. We explain how Vivo’s plans work.

Vivo’s detachable camera

Vivo is one of the largest players in China, and although the manufacturer is active in Europe, the brand does not yet release devices in the Benelux. The brand has now filed a patent for a phone that has a detachable camera module, LetsGoDigital discovered.

First of all, the smartphone has a completely borderless screen, without a directional one. selfie camera. There is also a camera module with two lenses on the back, and if that module slides upwards thanks to a rail, the selfie camera turns out to be on the back, including an extra flash.

But that is of course not all, because you can also simply remove the camera from the smartphone completely and then you can use it to take pictures thanks to the built-in battery. It will still be connected to your phone, presumably via bluetooth. The camera module also contains a hinge with which you can place the camera upright, such as a tripod. When you’re done, slide the module back into the phone until it’s magnetically attached. The camera’s battery will then begin to charge automatically.

Vivo and camera concepts

Vivo has already built up a reputation when it comes to concepts for phones, and what is striking about these experimental devices is that the brand always does something creative with the camera. Think of a pop-up camera that consists of several parts, another detachable module with speech technology and a camera module that is also a drone at the same time. Vivo doesn’t just stick to concepts either, because its smartphone with gimbal camera was presented in May.

What do you think of the idea of a detachable camera module. Do you find it interesting because he can then take pictures independently or fly in the air as a drone? Or maybe it seems interesting to you to exchange multiple types of lenses. Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
