You may have already received a notification from Google telling you that your storage space is almost reaching the 15 GB limit. It often comes with a paid offer to inflate your cloud. Even if it’s only €20/year to take advantage of 100 TB, we think it’s a very exaggerated price, especially since Google makes a lot of money with your personal data. How then to avoid taking out your wallet in this situation? Just clean up your 15GB cloud with the app Google One. This app allows you to visualize this space divided between Gmail, Google Photos and Google Drive.

You can then delete unnecessary or too large attachments, too old documents lying around on your Drive or even clean up Google Photos duplicates. But the trick we prefer is to make a backup of your videos to erase them from this 15 GB space. They will remain on your smartphone and you will have a trace on your hard drive, but they will disappear from your 15 GB. You can then save up to 8 GB since the videos are very large files! Finally, we will explain how to reduce the size of your photos by compressing them. from Google Photos to gain more space on this side. Be careful, by opting for this trick, make sure to save your photos on another medium to have an uncompressed copy of each shot.
