Use your voice to share a WhatsApp status

WhatsApp continues with the ability to share a status, use your voice now!

WhatsApp’s Status feature is quite similar to Instagram Stories or Snapchat. But in a more stripped-down version. It is a separate menu within the chat app to share a status with your contacts by means of a photo and an emoji.

Lately, the messaging service has not really tinkered with the feature, until now. WABetaInfo noted that in beta version 2.22.16.3. an important novelty is hidden in the WhatsApp status update.

It is now also possible to share a voice message via Status. It has become possible for the first time in this way to share audio with your contacts. This is not your voice in support of a status update, but a public voice message.

So normally you could send one person a voice message within a conversation. With this update it is possible to create a public voice message. Ultimately, it is up to you which contacts are allowed to see the status update.

It is not yet clear when the feature will go live publicly. At the moment it is really still a discovery within a new beta.
