The reason is that the encryption of Apple’s communication app appears to be too secure. Quite a striking reason for the United States Secret Service, right?
Messages secret service employees disappeared
The world was on fire when the Capitol in Washington, the capital of the United States, was stormed on January 6, 2021 in response to the election results of the presidential election. In addition to perpetual lawsuits from all involved, Apple has also been named in the wake of this undemocratic coup.
This is because there were missing text messages from employees of this American ‘Secret Service’. The remarkable thing: Apple’s encryption of messages is so good that the messages can no longer be retrieved even by the secret service. Why Employee Messages Disappeared
The messages disappeared while the Secret Service was making technical improvements. All messages were stored centrally and backup copies were placed in the digital safe. However, the messages from Apple’s Messages app did not survive this temporary move due to the advanced encryption.
On top of that, when the employees failed to manually backup of their data before their phones were wiped, the Secret Service lost some of the messages. That is a significant limitation in the investigation into the events of January 6. Remarkable? Secure! Basically, Apple has beaten the Secret Service on digital security.

To prevent such a fiasco in the future, the Secret Service is considering banning communications through Apple’s Messages app. Communication should only take place through official internal channels.
