two thirds of readers only take pictures with their phone
67 percent of our readers no longer have a separate camera with them: they only take pictures with their phone. The cameras of telephones are now of course very good, but they cannot compete with an SLR with a thick telephoto lens on it. However, unless you work at the Story, you probably don’t need that category.
Telephoto lens
karel-willem is such a Story photographer (joking of course): “I once went on holiday as a test with only the smartphone. And then hardly ever touched another camera again. Okay, in 2018 to America I still had a few things with me, because I had to photograph in large stadiums there, and with those mega stadiums a nice telephoto lens was necessary.”
It’s true that most of us are always using our phone to take snaps. mb even picked out the phone for it: “I always take pictures with my phone, that’s why I also have a Samsung S22.” Nobody is also one of those people who is completely satisfied with the telephone: “I have only used my telephone for the last 10 years. Before that I had various digital cameras and in the past (90s) I always had disposable cameras at house parties and festivals 😂 before that I had disposable cameras with loose disposable Flash blocks that you had to put on separately 🤣🤣🤣” Although it can still be very funny to use a disposable camera though, Nobody.
Taking pictures with the smartphone
20 percent say they usually take pictures with their phone, but also sometimes opt for a different camera. And yet there is 11 percent who do not use their phone as the standard when a photo needs to be taken: they usually use a camera. Are there any Androidworld readers who never use their phones for photos at all? Yes, 2 percent say they don’t use their smartphone for that.
Marvado didn’t feel so hip for a while, but that’s changing: “The phone takes good pictures, but I often use it for the quick snap. For photos I often use my analogue SLR camera where I really have to be selective because of the 36 pictures I can shoot. Fortunately, it’s getting a bit ‘in’ again 😆” Vallinny van Stijn is also team old school: “Nope, still the ‘old-fashioned’ way of taking photos, SLR is always better for me 😊”
