Twitter rolls out Verified Organizations

The whirlwind surrounding verifications on Twitter never ends. The platform has now rolled out its new Twitter Verified Organizations program worldwide. But even here there should be some exceptions.

Before Elon Musk took over, verification on Twitter was easy to understand. Politicians, companies or celebrities received a blue tick, which should confirm the authenticity of these accounts.

But the new boss was not satisfied with that. He instituted a new system to abolish the “current system of rule that determines who has a blue tick and who doesn’t”. Because that, in his opinion, is nonsense.

In addition to Twitter Blue, which now regulates the verification of accounts on Twitter, the group has now rolled out another system globally. Because with Twitter Verified Organizations companies can now also be verified worldwide.

What is Twitter Verified Organizations?

Twitter sees that Program Verified Organizations as “a new way for organizations and their partners to differentiate themselves on Twitter”. Companies and organizations participating in the program would not have to rely on Twitter alone to decide which accounts are verified and which are not.

According to Twitter, both companies and non-profit organizations can participate. But governments and multilateral organizations could also agree on the waiting list set for review.

Companies can verify partners with

With the Verified Organizations program, companies or organizations can apply for verification on Twitter. If they are accepted by the platform, not only your own account will be marked with a blue tick.

Because verified organizations can also specify which accounts to link to their own. In the case of a sports team, for example, this could be the players.

They will then receive a partner badge on their profile. This includes not only the blue tick, but also the logo of the associated organization. The linked accounts also appear on the organization’s Twitter profile.

What does verification cost?

Verification on Twitter can also be purchased with the Blue subscription. Of course, this also applies to the verification of companies.

In the US, Verified Organizations $1,000 monthly shell out. Adding linked accounts to their profile costs $50 each.

The figures for the program vary by country. In Germany, the basic subscription should cost 1130.50 euros. For linked accounts, 59.50 euros are due.

But there should also be exceptions with the Verified Organizations

However, this does not appear to be the case for all companies as the New York Times reported. According to an internal document, Twitter’s 500 largest advertisers are exempt from the fee.

Even the 10,000 organizations with the most followers on Twitter do not have to participate in the program. However, the prerequisite is that they have already been verified beforehand.
