Twitter Blue is back: everything that changes for subscribers to the service (editing of Tweets, videos in 1080p, fewer ads, etc.)

Twitter Blue is back today after a first suspension in incredible conditions. To get the little blue bird badge ($8/month, $11 on iOS, no European rates yet) the overall process will require a bit more verification, including through a verified mobile number. Once the user’s ID has been validated, the small certification badge will appear next to the account name, blue for “ordinary” users, gold for companies and gray for government accounts.

Joining Twitter Blue offers a hell of a lot of benefits, including the much-awaited ability to edit tweets, but also to post longer videos in FULL HD (1080p). Another bonus, Twitter Blue subscribers will be much less targeted by advertising, with a 50% reduction in advertising display on their TL. They will also be given priority for mentions, and search, which seems to indicate that the computing power of Twitter’s servers will be allocated first to these subscribers before dispatching to other users.

As a reminder, Elon Musk clarified a few hours ago that the maximum length limit for a tweet would soon be increased from 280 to 4000 characters, but it is still unclear if this development will only be for Twitter Blue subscribers.
