With Gboard you can easily translate words or sentences with Google Translate without having to open Translate. Indeed, you don’t have to leave the app you’re in to open Translate, translate text, copy translated text and paste it back into the app you were in. That can be done a lot faster!

Are you playing a game where players from all over the world post messages in the in-game chat? Are you in a WhatsApp group with international students? Then you can respond to messages in any language, without having to leave the game to translate the text first. You do this as follows:
- Open Gboard by tapping the box where you can enter something
- Tap the three dots on the right side of the navigation bar
- Tap on Translate
- Select the language in which you type and the language in which the text should be translated
- Type your message and the text will be translated immediately
- Tap send when you’re done!
