Transferring Facebook data is a lot easier, that’s how it works
Facebook is announcing some new features for its Transfer Your Information tool. These functions make it possible, among other things, to transfer your Facebook data to more services.
Transfer Facebook data
Deleting your Facebook account might be a big step for you because you will lose all your data. You can prevent this by downloading your Facebook archive. In this archive you will find, among other things, your (chat) messages and the photos and videos that you have posted. Facebook has improved its Transfer Your Information tool, making the step to quit Facebook even easier.
Support for more services
The tool now supports Photobucket and Google Calendar. You can thus export the photos from Facebook to the first service and your Facebook events to the second. The Transfer Your Information tool already works with Blogger, Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Photos, Backblaze B2, Koofr, and WordPress.
In addition to supporting new services, Facebook has also simplified the tool itself. You can now transfer multiple types of data to one service, and use filters that allow you to specify more precisely which files to transfer. In addition, retrying failed transfers has become easier.
Apple, Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Facebook have been working on an open-source initiative called the Data Transfer Project for some time. This should make it easier for users to exchange data between the different platforms and the export to Google Photos is an example of this.
