Tick reporting – Android-Software.fr

Living in various biotopes, you will probably encounter ticks waiting for blood at the top of the grass during your walks. The bites of these tiny critters (3 to 6 mm) can cause many problems after several weeks.

In order to deliver health prevention information on tick bites, their consequences and the means of protection, and to collect data on exposure to tick bites (type of environment, time of year, activity at risk), the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and theNational Institute of Agronomic Research offer this application to quickly and easily report the ugly blood-sucking mite.

Thanks to the information sent, the health authorities will thus be able to better know the places of presence and will be able to study the different varieties of ticks.

Features:
– Declare a bite.
– Indicate if this sting was inflicted on a woman, a man, or an animal.
– Specify the age of the person concerned.
– Indicate the date and the geographical area.
– Indicate the type of environment where the tick was found (in your garden, during a walk in the forest, etc.).
– Specify the context.
– Place the tick in the freezer for about ten minutes and before taking a picture of it.

To best help INRA, you can even decide to send the tick by post to the following address:
Citi Project
Laboratory all researchers
INRA Center Grand-Est Nancy
54280 Champenoux

All you have to do is tape the tick on a sheet of paper and indicate the number of your declaration made previously from the application. You will thus carry out participatory science

All the data collected will then enable INRA to establish mathematical models (weather/habitat) for predicting the risk. And the public to consult the bite declaration maps in order to take precautions and avoid the places reported. As a reminder, tick bites are responsible for more than 30,000 new cases of Lyme disease each year. :(

Another important reminder: never use ether to put a tick to sleep!
