Three hazelnuts for Cinderella: broadcast dates & broadcasters
Every year around Christmas time, the DEFA cult film “Three hazelnuts for Cinderella” is shown on television again. The fairytale film from 1973 is almost half a century old, but still inspires young and old. GIGA has listed all channels, streaming services and broadcast dates for you.
“Three hazelnuts for Cinderella” is only roughly based on the Grimm fairy tale Cinderella. Rather, the basis of the film was a modification of the story written by the Czech author Božena Němcová around 1845.
As a Czech-East German co-production, the film was shot in 1973 and directed by Václav Vorlíček, whose work you may also be familiar with from series such as The Flying Ferdinand or The Magic Raven Rumburak.
