Threads seems to be blocked in Europe, posting no longer works

Threads, the new app developed by the Instagram team and intended for sharing text messages, is currently experiencing an issue that occurs when posting messages. It seems that this error only occurs in Europe, where the app has not yet been officially launched.

“Post failed to upload”

Users in Europe who already have access to the app indicate on Twitter, among other things, that they get an error message when they try to post messages on Threads. It is still unclear what causes this error and whether it is specifically due to the European launch. Meta has not yet issued an official statement regarding this error message, but it is likely that the company is working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Although Threads has launched globally and is available for both Android and iOS, the app is unfortunately not yet available in Europe. It is unclear how long it will be before the app is released in Europe. Meta, the parent company of Instagram, has reportedly informed the Irish privacy regulator that Instagram Threads will not be coming to the European Union “for now”.

The reason behind the delay in the European release of Threads remains unknown. However, it appears that Meta is still working on adapting the app to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) within the European Union. It is therefore understandable that Meta chooses to take extra care when introducing new products and features to the region.

Users in Europe will likely have to be patient as Meta works to resolve the issue and further expand the app to the region. Are you experiencing issues posting to Threads? Let us know in the comments.
