This visually stunning remake runs on TV on Sunday
The most famous monster is stomping across the screens! Directed by Gareth Edwards, it tramples skyscrapers with big strides.
One day nature will strike back! On the screens, this can be done in an embarrassingly awkward way (“The Happening”) or as a scientific drama (“The Swarm”). Director Gareth Edwards made his contribution to the subject of man versus nature much more visually stunning and pulled out all the stops to hit back powerfully. His remake “Godzilla” transports the origin of all monsters into a new generation in which humans have significantly stronger weapons to defend themselves, but still seem powerless against the unleashed monster. In gloomy colors and an atmospheric image design, Godzilla on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 10:35 p.m. on Sat.1 his powers rule. Warner Bros recently released the new teaser for the upcoming Godzilla highlight “Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire”. In this first teaser you can see how the clash of the primeval giants will enter a new round.
“Godzilla”: This is what awaits you
In 1999, an explosion shook Japan’s Janjira nuclear power plant and the surrounding area. What happened or what caused it is being withheld from the public. Since then, the area has been declared a no-go zone. For the scientist Joe Brody (Bryan Cranston from “Breaking Bad”), the events are inexplicable to this day. The scientist now wants to find out what really happened back then and embarks on a research mission – back to the forbidden zone, where something sinister lies deep asleep. On their journey, they have no idea what a force of nature will soon befall Brody, his son Ford (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and the people of San Francisco.
“Godzilla”: Those believed dead live longer
Since 1954, the imposing monster has been walking across the cinema screens from the depths. As the original film, “Godzilla” is traded by director Ishirō Honda, which in black and white and with handmade effects evokes more smiles than amazement from today’s point of view. Nevertheless, the monster film laid the foundation for a special development that has been tried and tested over the years in a wide variety of forms. The human-sized lizard fought against gigantic caterpillars (“Godzilla and the Primeval Caterpillars”) or even competed against alien versions of himself (“Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla”). With Roland Emmerich’s version the monster received some serious blockbuster chances again in 1998, but this was not continued in this way. It wasn’t until 16 years later that Gareth Edwards got the opportunity to realize his vision of a much more serious and mature monster film. A box office result from worldwide $524.9 million and further sequels clearly show that the world of Godzilla is far from having enough.
