More and more people are turning their backs on Netflix. No wonder, after all, the streaming giant wants to put a stop to account sharing soon. And the current portfolio of films and series no longer knocks many fans off their feet. In addition, Netflix has diligently turned the price screw in recent years, so that the highest subscription tier is now included proud 215 euros per year to book.

Add to that the fact that its two biggest rivals, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+, offer their customers an ingenious feature that Netflix doesn’t have to this day: the ability to Watching movies online with others in different locations. This function was used by many, especially during the Corona lockdowns, but the feature is still in demand today.

This feature is called Amazon Prime Video watch partyDisney+ subscribers know it as GroupWatch. With both providers it is sufficient to have a joint account. However, participants must join the host’s stream via link from their own profile.

It all works across multiple platforms. Participants can therefore both over Mobile phone, tablet, browser on the PC or the smart TV watch.

Netflix, on the other hand, does not offer such a feature. No wonder, after all, the company is taking strong action against account sharing. If you still want to watch films together with others – and don’t want to rely on the fact that you simply start the stream manually at the same time – there is a solid alternative for you: teleparty.

Teleparty is a Browser plugin for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, which offers you a similar function. In addition, Android users can now also download an experimental app onto their smartphones so that they can also use Teleparty. However, Teleparty is not yet available for the iPhone or smart TVs.

Good to know: Teleparty also works with other services such as YouTube, HBO or Hulu – and even Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video are supported, although they have their own solutions for this.
