This solar flower pot is a privacy screen and solar system at the same time
Solar systems are trendy. However, the photovoltaic company Greenakku goes one step further and, after a solar system for the garden fence, has now presented a solar flower pot. But how high is the energy yield?
There are now more and more ideas and solutions that are intended to contribute to the energy transition. This development also brings with it a fall in the price of solar systems. Because while many systems were still relatively expensive a few years ago, many companies now offer systems for the garden or balcony that are relatively easy to install.
The photovoltaic company Greenakku has a new model when it comes to innovative solar systems added to his range: A system called Matilda. This is a solar flower pot with a vertical solar panel that works on both sides. In addition to being used as a flower pot, Matilda can also serve as a privacy screen for the balcony.
Solar flower pot generates up to 370 watts of energy
The size of the flower box is 114 x 74 x 20 centimeters. The panel, which can be used on both sides, has dimensions of 177 × 104.9 × 7.1 centimeters. When delivered, the weight is around 60 kilograms. But that’s not enough to stabilize the construction.
Buyers should therefore put soil or another material in the flower pot – even if they do not want to use it. The maximum output of the system is 370 watts. The necessary inverter is located directly in the aluminum construction and outputs a maximum of 300 watts. The specifications reveal that the system is designed for a long service life.
Greenakku promises a long warranty and term
Because according to Greenakku, the output of the solar flower pot is still around 87 percent after 30 years. At the same time, the company promises a twelve-year guarantee on the inverter. If this breaks down, buyers can replace it relatively easily and continue to use the power plant.
The price is around 1,000 euros. Nevertheless, interested parties should expect additional costs. Because shipping by courier is not included. At the same time, it still requires a connection cable for the inverter. However, depending on the length, these usually only cost 20 to 50 euros.
