Does your phone call ever end abruptly on your iPhone? This is now a known problem among iPhone users. But good news: the problem is not caused by a technical error in your smartphone. Or by your interlocutor who no longer feels like the conversation.

An iPhone setting is most likely causing the problem with your phone call. This setting is easy to adjust, iPhoned explains you how.

This setting is causing the phone problem

iOS 16 introduced that you can end the phone call on your iPhone by pressing the side button of your phone. Of course, this happens quite quickly when you’re holding an iPhone, so there’s a good chance you’ve accidentally hung up on a phone call.

Fortunately, this setting is easy to adjust, so that you can only hang up the call by tapping the screen. To adjust the function of the side button during a phone call:

  1. Go to Settings’;
  2. Choose ‘Accessibility’;
  3. Tap on ‘Touch’;
  4. Scroll all the way down;
  5. Disable ‘Prevent lock to stop broadcasting’.
End iPhone call

Now that you have disabled this feature, it is no longer possible to accidentally end your phone call on your iPhone with your side button. The opposite also applies to this setting: if you turn on the switch, it is possible to hang up your call with the side button. This is useful in the winter, for example, when you wear gloves, but it does increase the risk of accidental hanging.
