‘This is why I took my baby to a rock concert’ | kek mama

Katarina and her husband were about to go to a concert when the nanny called off. ‘Then we were in doubt: aren’t we going – even though we wouldn’t get the money for the tickets back – or should we take our son with us?’ It was the last, even though their son was only five months old at the time. ‘I admit: I had a lot of questions’, says Katarina. “I remember entering the concert hall and wondering if babies were allowed. And whether the pram was even allowed in there.’

To trust

However, it turned out to be a great experience. “It was exhausting, but fantastic. Of course it was a challenge to have to change my son’s diaper on the floor, but it worked. I found out it’s all about trust. If you come in like it’s perfectly normal to bring your baby, no one will ask you anything.’ So when their son was ten months old, he went to concert number two. “He may not remember these experiences, but later he will be grateful for the photos.”

‘Good for his development’

Katarina also advises other parents to take their child to a rock concert every now and then. ‘Firstly, babies enter for free and they can easily fit in a baby carrier. You don’t need a babysitter, it makes for fun family photos and music is great for a child’s development. Just make sure to protect your little one’s ears with earplugs.’
