The secret is out: Hyundai has presented its Ioniq 6 with a streamlined design to the public. The special aerodynamics of the e-car should save energy. In particular, the manufacturer should have Tesla drivers in mind with the Ioniq 6.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 seen in pictures for the first time

After many rumors and leaks, Hyundai has now nailed it and first official pictures of the Ioniq 6 released. Accordingly, the electric car has a streamlined silhouette, which is noticeable with a low drag coefficient of 0.21. In this context, Hyundai speaks of the “best result” that the car manufacturer has been able to achieve with its vehicles to date. The rear is reminiscent of the Porsche 911.

As expected, Hyundai has based the Ioniq 6 on its own concept vehicle Prophecy EV Concept in terms of design. Total should 700 parametric pixels used as LED lights in e-cars (source: Hyundai).

According to Hyundai, the interior corresponds to a “cocoon with a feel-good character” in which, among other things, a 12-inch infotainment display can be found. Many of the materials used are sustainable, such as a recycled PET fabric for the seats. The manufacturer opted for a bio-rubber mixture for the dashboard.

Just like the Tesla Model S the door handles retract automatically. At least one version of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 should do without physical exterior mirrors and use cameras instead.

Hyundai continues to keep a low profile when it comes to the Price for the electric car goes. The manufacturer has not yet revealed a specific release date. When it comes to the technical properties of the Ioniq 6, Hyundai also does not let itself be looked at.
