‘This is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 with Wear’
Samsung’s launch event of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Watch 4 could be announced any time soon, and meanwhile, the first images of the alleged Galaxy Watch 4 Active are leaking onto the worldwide web.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4
Samsung is going to unveil two new smartwatches this year, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4. These will be the successors of the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and also the first smartwatches from Samsung that run on the Wear operating system. that Google and Samsung announced in May. Many details about these smartwatches have already been ‘leaked’, and today some interesting renders of the Galaxy Watch Active 4 have surfaced on the internet.
The renders show that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 retains the round display of its predecessor, but according to the maker contains flat 2D glass to protect the screen. The most noticeable changes can be seen in the design of the frame, knobs and strap. The watch itself appears thicker and so does the strap. The two buttons on the right edge of the device also have a different shape and the rotating ring around the dial is missing. Perhaps Samsung will go for a virtual variant.
More details about the release date and specifications of the smartwatches can be found here and here.
Virtual event at Mobile World Congress
Samsung has already planned a virtual Samsung Galaxy session on June 28 during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC). Samsung promises to come up with new possibilities at the event for both developers and users of the smartwatches. This is probably the successor to the Galaxy Watch Designer tool from Samsung, which according to this patent from Let’sGoDigital will be called Galaxy Watch Studio. This tool allows Galaxy Watch owners to create their own watchfaces.
So we will learn more about the new Wear and perhaps also with new watches that already run on it, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4.
