The winners of the Eurovision Song Contest

Spotify dives into its gigantic database of streaming data every year to see who has the best chance of winning the Eurovision Song Contest this year. In 2021, the streaming service already predicted that Italy would take off with the profit and according to the streaming platform, Italy will take the first place again this year. Sweden and the Netherlands follow in second and third place.

  1. Italy: ‘Brividi’
  2. Sweden – ‘Hold me Closer’
  3. The Netherlands – ‘The Depth’

Spotify bases its prediction on the number of streams that the music tracks achieve on the platform: “Of all the songs submitted that participate in the Song Contest, S10 is in third place worldwide with streams with ‘De Depth’. For the group of listeners under the age of 25, the Dutch entry is even in second place (based on worldwide streams in the period March 2021 and May 2022). S10 stands behind the Swedish entry ‘Hold me Closer’ by Cornelia Jakobs.”

Spotify managed to predict last year’s result well. That was the Italian rock band Måneskin. Their entry ‘ZITTI E BUONI’ was the most streamed worldwide in the run-up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The band is still very popular a year later.
