Xiaomi has announced its MIUI 14 skin. Thanks to the announcement, we will learn about the improvements and new features that have been introduced. The manufacturer has paid particular attention to the efficiency and stability of its own skin.

Samsung has One UI, Motorola My UX and Xiaomi has the MIUI skin. The new version of the skin has been officially announced by the brand; MIUI 14. According to the brand, the main focus has been on efficiency and also on the stability of its own skin. These adjustments should reduce energy consumption by 16 percent. The own skin also takes up less space on the storage space. There are also fewer non-removable system apps, bringing this number to 8. This is reported to save 1.5GB. The new version is also smarter and offers a new private function that makes it possible to keep more things private.

We know Xiaomi’s MIUI mainly from the playful stuff and personalization. That should continue with MIUI 14. According to the information, it will be possible to adjust even more things in the interface. This can include, for example, adjusting the size of icons. In MIUI 14 you can choose from four formats for the icon size. Work has also been done on interactive widgets, a function that Xiaomi itself calls ‘Cute Things’. For example, you can put virtual cats on your home screen that are a bit Tamagotchi-esque.

Other improvements we can expect with MIUI 14 include the ability to quickly search for duplicate files. There is also improved text recognition and you can connect Xiaomi accessories to your Xiaomi device. With the new family mode, you can easily share photos with others in your family, and you can also share health data from your smartwatch with other family members. From January, the first models will be updated with MIUI 14, at least in the Chinese market. Nothing is known about a European release.
