One of the notifications that Facebook sends has to do with the friend suggestions. Once the app has a person to introduce to you, it sends a notification. It is striking that it often concerns people you do not know, the question of which is how Facebook selects the people. While Facebook would love to keep sending you notifications, it does offer the option to disable notifications for such friend suggestions. Facebook will continue to make suggestions to you, but only do so when the app is opened.

Disable Suggestion Notifications

Disabling the notifications is possible via the Facebook app for Android and iOS, as well as via the (mobile) browser on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac OS and other operating systems. Below are the steps for the Facebook app for Android. Since the design of Facebook’s iOS and Android apps are almost identical, you can probably follow the steps below on iOS as well.

1. Open the Facebook app
2. Click on it hamburger menu top right
3. Scroll down until you Settings and privacy encounters
4. click on Settings and privacy
5. Then click Institutions
6. Then navigate to Notification Settings
7. Click on that people you might know
8. Make sure the rear switch Allow notifications on Facebook off

Once the switch is turned off, you will no longer receive any notifications related to friendship suggestions at all.
