Twitter is offering its Blue premium subscription to the first users in Germany. Depending on the model, this can cost up to 100 euros a year. The paying customers also have to live with advertising on the platform, but can upload longer videos and edit tweets.

Twitter Blue launched in Germany
Disappeared shortly after introduction Twitter’s premium model, then it reappeared, at least for US users. Now the platform with new owner Elon Musk has apparently decided to also offer Twitter Blue in Germany. Some users see the possibility to do this in the Android and iOS apps as well as on the desktop.
Interested have the Choice between a monthly and an annual subscription. The cheapest variant is noticeable with 7 euros per month, 84 euros are debited per year. The situation is different with the monthly variant, which costs 8 euros. In this case, Twitter Blue costs 96 euros per year. Regardless of the subscription type, users will be featured in Twitter discussions.
In addition to a blue tick behind the user name, the subscription offers other advantages, some of which are not yet available at the start. Initially, users can upload longer videos to the platform. Up to one hour runtime with a maximum size of 2 GB is possible. 4K videos are not allowed.

Despite the paid subscription, premium users continued advertising on the platform displayed. According to Twitter, however, the advertising display is reduced by 50 percent. Scrolling through the Following and For You timelines doubles the number of tweets between ads.
In addition to Germany, Twitter Blue starts in Saudi Arabia, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. So far, the service has been available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the UK.
