This is how Apple exposed a leaker (with a cunning trap)

Over the past few months, a Twitter user named Analyst941 has shared several interesting rumors about Apple’s future software. His first rumors were about the Dynamic Island of the iPhone 14 Pro. Then he started the Twitter account where he could tell a lot about future releases such as iOS 17, watchOS 10 and more.

Last week he even said that Apple plans to bring Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro to the iPad in 2024. That has actually happened, although a bit earlier than Analyst941 had said. The tweets of this Twitter user often turned out to have a grain of truth.

Then things went wrong…

Until last Wednesday, when the Twitter account suddenly disappeared. The Apple leaker subsequently wrote a ‘goodbye’ message on the MacRumors forum. It stated that Apple had exposed the leaker.

Partly thanks to the release date of Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, Apple found out the identity of the leaker. Apple has let anyone who knew anything internally about the development of this software know a specific release date. The unique release date that Analyst941 shared on Twitter matched the one his sister (who worked for Apple) had been given.

WWDC is coming

Whether the story is really true, of course, we do not know for sure. Still, it’s interesting to see how Apple handles a possible leaker. WWDC 2023 is coming up soon, and we’ll know right away how many of Analys941’s rumors turned out to be true.
