Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite gets unexpectedly early Android 11 update

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has apparently taken a shortcut in the race for its Android 11 release? The phone will get its Android 11 update with the One UI 3.0 shell a month ahead of schedule.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite

Of all the phones that we expected to receive the update to Android 11 this year, the Galaxy S10 Lite was certainly not high on our list. The phone is the cheaper variant of Samsung’s 2019 flagship and it doesn’t have the same update policy as the more expensive flagships. Still, Sammobile knows that the update to the One Ui 3.0 software shell is already coming.

The Android 11 update has G770FXXU3DTL1 as its firmware version number and it comes in one fell swoop with the December 2020 security patch. The update is pretty solid, taking up 2053.34 MB. Samsung is rolling it out primarily in India and Spain, but as we are used to from the manufacturer, other markets are soon to follow.

New in One UI 3.0

One UI 3.0 provides even more simplicity, according to Samsung. Within the interface, the functions you use most – such as the start screen, lock screen, notifications and Quick Panel – are visually highlighted. New effects, such as dim / blur for notifications, ensure that you can focus quickly and the new widgets keep the home screen clear. With the arrival of Android 11 for the S10 Lite, it seems that Samsung has taken its flagships of 2019 in its sights. Previously, the company already brought Android 11 to all devices from the S20 series – including the Fan Edition – and the Note 20 series. In the coming days or weeks, we could hear more about the Galaxy S10, s10e or S10 Plus. You can find in this schedule when other Samsung phones will get the update. Have you already received the update on one of these phones or on the S10 Lite? Then let us know via this route.
