This electric car does everything differently

E-cars are environmentally friendly, resource-saving and only for do-gooders? Some might think, but at the latest with a new concept car, Dodge is declaring war on these prejudices. The result is a Stromer that does practically everything differently than we are used to from electric cars.

Dodge presents e-car concept – including exhaust and circuit

Somehow all e-cars are the same: long wheelbase, little overhangs, lots of space, quiet and quiet, no exhaust fumes – the list of features could go on and on. But does that really apply to all electric models? With the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept car, there’s new proof that E-cars can do things differently.

The brand, which is famous for its muscle cars and now belongs to the European Stellantis group, has now presented the concept. There are a few distinctive features that don’t sound like an electric car at all, but for Dodge they are part of the brand identity that you don’t want to do without: The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT comes with an exhaust and comes with a manual transmission.

A battery-powered vehicle does not need an exhaust pipe – but that’s exactly what it is. The exhaust of the electric charger – called Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust – is accordingly not responsible for the removal of exhaust gases. Instead hides behind a rich sound module including amplifier. This should guarantee the typical Dodge sound, which otherwise comes from the notorious Hellcat engine. Noisy Message from Stellantis comes the Charger a deafening 126 decibels – just like the combustion models.

Lease an e-car and collect a bonus of €6,000

There are many reasons why the time for combustion engines is coming to an end:

Dodge has also thought of friends of manual shifting. There is a electromechanical circuit for the “multi-speed gearbox” of the charger. You won’t tell how many courses there are. We are only talking about predefined switching points in the so-called eRupt transmission.

For additional driving fun there is also a Boost button on the steering wheel loosely based on “The Fast and the Furious”. Drivers can also switch between four driving modes optimized for different styles directly on the steering wheel.

Just an e-car dream: Dodge leaves it at the concept

The only drawback with the electric charger: Stellantis leaves no doubt that it Dodge’s e-car will not be available for sale. The concept car is only intended to pave the way into the electric age for the brand. Some features could then be found in other Dodge models in the future. But who knows if it will stay that way: Polestar has just chosen its former concept car as the next production model.
