This 400 euro cell phone takes the best photos

Smartphone camera tests are usually very objective or are carried out according to technical aspects that rarely correspond to everyday life. That’s why there are so-called blind camera tests. Many smartphones compete against each other, where the voters do not know which smartphone is behind which photo. Marques Brownlee took his camera test to the extreme this year, generating and evaluating a gigantic database. The winner is a surprise.

Many different smartphones have come out this year, claiming to have the best cameras ever. But which smartphone really takes the best pictures when you don’t know which device is behind it and just look at your own preferences when it comes to pictures? That’s exactly what YouTuber Marques Brownlee wanted to find out with his blind camera test.

Blind camera test with 21.2 million votes

This time, however, he certainly used a more scientific method to get a more reliable result. For this he has the Elo rating (look at Wikipedia) which is also used in other scientific areas. With a new voting method, he has also prevented potential favorites from being eliminated in advance and the result being falsified. At the end is a Record of 21.2 million votes assembled by over 600,000 voters.

The biggest losers are the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which has a 200 MP camera, and the Sony Xperia 1 IV, which actually also has one of the most modern camera sensors. However, the pictures taken did not convince the testers. Oppo beats Samsung, Apple and Huawei because the normal photo in particular is of outstanding quality.

Google Pixel 6a costs only 400 euros
