1 Send screenshots directly

There are all kinds of reasons to take a screenshot on your iPhone, but in practice it is often to send it to someone. Thanks to this handy function, it is no longer necessary to first save the screenshot in Photos, and then share it from that app via, for example, the Mail app. That can be done a lot faster!

  • Take a screenshot as you always do (volume up/home button and side button at the same time);
  • Hold your finger on the thumbnail at the bottom left of the screen (don’t tap!);
  • Now drag the thumbnail to the app where you want to share the screenshot;
  • Hold your finger on the thumbnail and use another finger to compose a new email, for example;
  • After that, release your finger and the screenshot will be inserted into the email.

2 Automatically open Spotify when AirPods connect

Do you only use your AirPods to listen to music? Then it’s a good idea to set your favorite music app to open automatically when your AirPods connect to your iPhone. In this example, we are using Spotify, but it works with all music apps.

Assignments spotify airpods
  1. Open the Assignments app, tap ‘Automation’, then the ‘+’ and then ‘Personal Automation’;
  2. Tap Bluetooth, tap Choose, select your AirPods, tap Done, then tap Next;
  3. Now tap on ‘Add task’ and then ‘Open app’. Tap ‘app’ and select Spotify;
  4. Tap ‘Next’ and then ‘Done’.

From now on, Spotify will open automatically when your AirPods are paired via bluetooth. It also works with any bluetooth speaker.

3 Schedule Message

By default, it is not possible to automatically send a message at a set time in the Messages app. But with the Assignments app, which we already use above, this works fine. Proceed as follows:

iPhone Tips: Schedule Message Assignments
  • Open the Assignments app, tap ‘Automation’, then the ‘+’ and then ‘Personal Automation’;
  • Choose ‘Time’, set the time at which you want to send the message and tap ‘Next’;
  • Tap ‘Send message’, enter the message and recipient(s) and tap ‘Next’;
  • Turn off Ask Before Run and tap Done.

When you add a widget to the home screen, it is always placed at the top of the screen. In addition, all your icons are automatically moved as a result. That can be different! With the following steps you place your widget where you want it.

iPhone tips widgets random place
  • Tap an empty part of the home screen and tap ‘+’ in the top left;
  • Tap the widget you want to place.
  • Now you don’t tap ‘+ Add widget’, but you keep your finger on the widget.
  • Swipe your finger and place the widget where you want it.

5 Every button is a snooze button

When your iPhone’s alarm goes off in the morning, you’re probably trying really hard with your sleepy head to tap the snooze button on the screen. While that concentration may help you wake up, we think you should know this handy feature: When your iPhone’s alarm goes off, each button acts like a snooze button. Pressing one of those buttons is just a bit easier than tapping a specific place on the screen. Thank us tomorrow morning!
