Analytics company Sensor Tower has published its latest report with interesting figures on app downloads in the first quarter of 2022. These are the most popular apps and games of the moment.
More apps downloaded
We downloaded more apps in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. For example, between January 1 and March 31, we downloaded 37 billion apps from the App Store and Play Store. Of these, 28.3 billion come from the Play Store. That’s 1.1 percent more than around this time last year.
Most downloaded apps
As you can see in the images below, TikTok is the most downloaded app in Europe, followed by Telegram and the two Meta apps, Instagram and WhatsApp. Globally, that order is somewhat different, Meta’s apps, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp are in place 1, place 2 and place 5. TikTok takes third place here, and Shoppee fourth place. We do not see that app in the European list and Facebook is not in the top 5 in Europe.
