Coolest E3 2021 smartphone games

The E3 takes place every year, a large fair where practically all game companies announce their new games. This year the show took place completely online due to the corona virus, but still enough beautiful things were announced. Including these cool smartphone games that you should not miss.

1. Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier

The First Soldier further expands the world of Final Fantasy VII, as the story takes place thirty years before the original game. Surprisingly, First Soldier is a battle royale game. In this genre, which also includes Fortnite and PUBG, the goal is to be the last player to survive while everyone tries to shoot each other. In this case, of course, there is also a lot of magic involved.

Coming out in 2021.

2. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows

When the popular game series Hitman got a smartphone game, people were pleasantly surprised. Hitman Sniper was a wonderful game in which you have to make the right choices with your sniper rifle from a distance to commit the perfect murder. In this second part, Agent 47, the well-known bald main character, has disappeared. That’s why you follow The Shadows, a new group of talented snipers who try to uncover the truth.

Coming out in 2021.

3. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster

The first six installments in the successful Final Fantasy series are being re-released. This has of course happened before, but what is special about this version is that the original pixel style is preserved. The versions that you now find in the App Store have been given a 3D makeover and not everyone finds that equally beautiful. These Pixel Remasters allow you to play the original games the way they were intended.

Coming out ‘soon’.

4. Devolver Tumble Time

Game publisher Devolver likes to poke fun at practices from the rest of the game industry. That becomes immediately clear in the trailer for Devolver Tumble Time, a puzzle game with characters from well-known Devolver games. The game should be so much fun that you completely ignore it for the rest of your life.

Coming out in 2021.

5. Rocksmith+

Rocksmith from Ubisoft is not really a game, but more of a tool for learning to play guitar in a playful way. You can do that with a physical electric or acoustic guitar. The service is now completely revamped with Rocksmith+ and that includes an app. The microphone of your smartphone is then used to analyze your guitar playing.

Coming out soon.

6. Immortality

The maker of the special games Her Story and Telling Lies is back with a new game: Immortality. You follow an actress who has starred in three films that never came out. She then disappeared and you must find out what happened. It is not yet certain whether the game will appear directly for smartphones, but the chance is high. If that doesn’t happen right away, it will no doubt be later.

Coming out in 2022.

7. NieR Re[in]carnation

The NieR series for game consoles consists of some special games, full of deep philosophical questions and tasty action. There is now a smartphone game in that universe that also combines these elements. You control a girl who is accompanied by a ghost. Together, they reminisce about the past while dodging a dangerous monster.

Coming out in 2021 and already in the App Store.
