In order for the climate protection goals to become reality, as many countries as possible must make their contribution. In our weekly ranking, we show you which ten nations currently have the best climate protection policies.
Climate change is a global problem and does not stop at borders. But tackling climate change requires extensive international strategies. Since 2005, the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) therefore annually the climate protection performance of over 50 countries.
Climate protection: These 10 countries have the best environmental policies
In our ranking, we show you which ten nations have the best environmental policies. The ranking is based on a maximum of 100 points. Germany, which was tenth in the past, is not represented in the current top ten. Because with 61:11 Points are enough for 13th place this year.
10th place: Netherlands
From 2030, the Netherlands intends to only allow zero-emission cars. But the other plans of the Dutch government also envisage a drastic reduction in CO2 emissions – for example through a climate tax on flights. Compared to the previous year, the Netherlands was able to gain six places and stay in the ranking 62.24 Points.
