There may not be one or two new Silent Hilly -apkrig in development

The situation around the continuation of Konami’s horror saga Silent Hill is becoming more and more tangled. Now again, it seems as if there are two games in development, which is, by the way, a presumption that has appeared before. The first tracks are to lead to the Polish Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair With, The Medium). In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, its boss Piotr Babieno suggested that the studio was working on a game based on a horror brand from a well-known publisher.

Jamaoka has already participated in the soundtrack to the last game from Bloober Team, which was the recent horror film The Medium.

He can’t say who it is or what the game is, but he says he’s sure people will be thrilled when they find out. The title has been in development for over a year, and fans immediately began to speculate that it was Silent Hill, for which Konami was looking for various external developers years ago. A YouTube channel called TheGrateDebate believes it is the same project that the court composer of the Akira Jamaoka series recently pointed out.

He apparently inadvertently revealed in an interview with Al Hub magazine that a game that fans hope to be introduced this summer. Later, the website was forced to withdraw the statement, although it was not clear who asked for it, and Konami claimed that it was not an impulse on its part. It should be noted that Jamaoka has already participated in the trial track for the last game from the Bloober Team, which was the recent horror film The Medium.

After all, it has been speculated before that Konami should also negotiate with the developers of Until Dawn from the Supermassive Games studio.

However, the usually well-informed Video Games Chronicle magazine comes with its own behind-the-scenes news. Konami is said to have entrusted Silent Hill to a prominent Japanese company and is to be unveiled this summer. As a boomerang, speculation returns about the involvement of Sony, which has been circulating on the Internet for about two years.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean that the two reports are inconsistent. As mentioned earlier, this leads fans to believe that there could be two games in development in parallel instead of one from different studios. After all, it has been speculated before that Konami should also negotiate with the developers of Until Dawn from the Supermassive Games studio. In the end, nothing emerged from this debate, but according to VGC, the authors transformed their plans into the horror episode series The Dark Pictures Anthology.

The head of Bloober revealed that their next game should be more action-packed.

VGC sources further say that the new Japanese Silent Hill should be different from the previous games, although originally Konami did not rush much to cooperate with foreign developers. The company reconsidered its opinion only after the failure of the latest internal games, such as Metal Gear Survive. In a similar way, the Japanese giant is said to be working with partners on other games from the Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid series.

The head of Bloober revealed in the mentioned interview that their next game should be more action-packed, even if he does not deny the psychological DNA of older titles of Polish developers. However, they do not want to stay only with horror movies, but to expand their field of activity in general to thrillers. Babieno pointed to titles like The Last of Us or Hellblade as something that inspires them and they would like to follow.

According to AestheticGamer, he is 100% sure that the Japanese giant is preparing to unveil Silent Hill.

Of course, the well-known insider and leaker also commented on the situation AestheticGamer alias Dusk Golem. He pointed out that he had been attracted to two different projects in the Silent Hill series as early as January 2020, noting that he first heard about them in 2018. One was supposed to be the re-mentioned soft reboot and the other was an episodic issue, with Konami debating with different teams. He also pointed out that one of them was the Supermassive Games.

Soft reboot continues to be attributed to Sony. According to him, he is 100% sure that the Japanese giant is preparing to uncover it. We may know the truth in a few months, but if it is true, perhaps the fans have something to look forward to. And we to slowly establish a card for another unannounced Silent Hill…
