The public beta of iOS 16 is out, but is it also wise to install this version right away? iPhoned explains why it is better to wait a little longer.

iOS 16 Public Beta: Install Now?

Apple has put some nice new things in iOS 16. For example, your lockscreen has been overhauled and it is now possible to adjust the font and colors of the clock. iOS 16 has also made room for widgets on the Lock screen, and there are now a ton of wallpapers in the Wallpaper Gallery.

We understand that you are eager to install and try out the iOS 16 public beta. While it’s nice to start with the latest iOS version for your iPhone right away, it’s better to wait until the real release of iOS 16 is available around September.

Still waiting to install the update

There are a number of reasons why it is better to wait a little longer before installing iOS 16 on your iPhone. We have listed the most important reasons for you.

1. Program Errors and Software Bugs

Probably the main reason for delaying installing the iOS 16 public beta is the bugs and software bugs. Even Apple gives a warning in advance when you want to install the public beta that there are still many bugs in the software. This may even cause your iPhone to freeze and have to restart the device.

2. Some apps don’t work (anymore)

One reason Apple releases beta versions of iOS is to give software developers a chance to update their apps. Not all developers use this and it may just happen that your favorite apps don’t work (yet) in iOS 16.

3. You will lose some functions

It may sound strange, but some features of iOS 15 will disappear with the upgrade to iOS 16. It is possible that Apple will add them in iOS 16, but that is not known at this time.
