There is another special country that accepts Bitcoin as a means of payment

You may not have heard of this country that accepts Bitcoin as an official payment method from now on.

If you want Bitcoin to be taken seriously as an official means of payment, the major well-known countries will have to accept it. And the chances are very slim that this will happen. The small countries that are now accepting cryptocurrency as an affordable currency don’t feel like adding much.

It was announced this week that the Central African Republic accepts Bitcoin as a method of payment. I can imagine that you have never heard of this country.

As the name suggests, it is located in the middle of Africa. Neighboring countries such as Cameroon and Sudan are much better known to the general public.

Reason for the country to accept Bitcoin is to improve the conditions in the country for its inhabitants. It often fails the stable countries that embrace Bitcoin. Take El Salvador as an example. There too things are not going so well with their own currency, to say the least.

Bitcoin seems to be a kind of rescue for these kinds of countries to save the economy a little more.

With this promotion, Central African Republic is the first African country to accept Bitcoin as a currency. After El Salvador, it is also the second country in the world to work with BTC. (via Reuters)
