In South Korea, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 folding smartphones are enjoying real popular success. Both models have just reached one million copies sold like devices like the Galaxy Note 10, at the same time.
During the month of August, the first sales indicators issued by the Korea Herald were already green for Samsung folding smartphones. In new figures relayed by our colleagues from Frandroid, it appears that the two models unveiled by the Korean manufacturer have combined reached the million mark in sales in South Korea. In a month, the success of the products would be comparable to the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S8.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 would sell twice as much as the Z Fold 3
The first figures announced a few weeks earlier lacked any real precision. The Asian media announced a low bracket of 450,000 copies for a maximum of 800,000. According to the latest data, pre-orders have reached 920,000 units just in South Korea. Almost a month after their launch, folding smartphones would therefore have reached this fateful bar. Be careful, however, no specific details are given in the sales. Rumors have it that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 would sell much better than its counterpart.
According to the Korea Herald, only a few smartphones from the manufacturer were entitled to such starts. The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S8 are cited as the fastest models to reach the million mark. Be careful, however, the craze for Samsung products in South Korea cannot be representative in comparison to the rest of the world. In France, an Opinion Way survey highlights that one in three French people consider buying a folding smartphone. Despite everything, the high price of over 1000 euros is still a drag.
With this new range of folding smartphones, Samsung seems to have found an effective recipe. It remains to be seen whether this popular success will be confirmed in Europe.
