The smartphone of the founder of Service4Charger

In the “Homescreen!” series we take a look at the smartphones of people from the social media, marketing and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Fabian Paul, founder of Service4Charger.

Fabian Paul: On my home screen there is a colorful mix of apps that are indispensable in everyday work and apps that make my life a little easier both at home and at work.

This is exactly why my smartphone and the apps on it are such a great help: They support me with everyday tasks and improve the work-life balance. The apps on my home screen can roughly be divided into three categories: work organization, switching off, information.

I use to organize my tasks Microsoft To Do (for Android). So I can easily manage my daily tasks from my smartphone, synchronize them with other devices at the same time and regularly check off when I’ve done something.

Also, I still use it at work Microsoft Teams (for Android) to be easily accessible for my colleagues and Outlook to manage my e-mails from my cell phone. With the app session I use the Pomodoro Technique to break my work into 25-minute intervals to use my focus time as efficiently and focused as possible.

I notice that the technology helps me a lot personally. At the end of each working day, I reflect on what I have achieved and how the day went. I use them for that Notation app (for Android).

And last but not least, an application that can be found on every smartphone should not be missing for a successful and organized working day: the alarm clock or timer. I use this for meetings to arrive on time and to finish the meetings on time.

Switch off and work out

To switch off from everyday work, I like to take part in guided meditations headspace (for Android). Especially when I have meetings almost all day or am always available, Headspace helps me calm down a bit. I also like listening to audio books Audible (for Android), which also works very well when I’m on the go.

I’m currently listening to Marc Elsberg’s The Fall of the President. What is also super important for me to be able to switch off and be balanced in everyday life is exercise and a healthy diet. I use for that Asana Rebel (for Android), do workouts suggested by the app and follow the nutritional tips.

Always up to date

The last category of apps that should not be missing on my smartphone are apps in which I can find out about current events and topics that concern me. I think the best way to do that on the go is with podcasts. I use them for that Podcast app by Apple.

My favorite songs are CleanElectric and Ich.Wir.Alle. The Handelsblatt app (for Android) is also a must for me. I read the latest business news here and am always well informed. Especially the news in the field of e-mobility helps me to stay informed about current industry events.
