In our review and in the comparative phototest, we concluded that it is at least better than its last year’s Ultra predecessor and many users probably feel the same way. However, the editors of the well-known DxOMark server seem to have the opposite opinion, and their Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra photo test included a mobile phone in the local ranking. to the current seventeenth position. Just behind the Apple iPhone 12 and quite deep behind the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
On what findings did the server base the final evaluation? Among the negative properties appeared, for example noise in many shooting modes, unnatural textures when zooming, slow camera response in poorly lit and high contrast scenes, or insufficient video stabilization. The positive features of the editors were a wide dynamic range, a smooth transition when zooming and white balance, autofocus and a smooth image in videos. The test authors themselves acknowledge that, given the ambitions and parameters, they expected from the phone at least ten points better result.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra finally passed a photo test at DxOmark with a gain of 121 points. The score consists of a rating of 128 points for shooting, 76 points for zooming and 98 points for shooting videos.
