The popular fitness bracelet has undergone a major change

Fitness bracelets of the Fitbit Charge series have never been an eye-pleasing and elegantly designed bracelet. Instead, they offered a number of fitness functions with accurate measurement of sports activities. However, the manufacturer in the case of the new generation Fitbit Charge 5 decided to jump on the fashion trend and for the first time brings a model with a color display.

The manufacturer has modernized the design and display

According to the manufacturer, the Fitbit Charge 5 is 10% slimmer than its predecessor. The angular design of previous generations is gone and instead the novelty has a round and aerodynamic design. Thanks to the 1.04-inch color AMOLED display, the Fitbit Charge 5 is the company’s first smart bracelet with the Always-On function.

According to the manufacturer, the brightness of the display is twice as high as in the case of the Fitbit Charge 4, which is definitely suitable during sunny days. Gorilla Glass 3 tempered glass provides protection for falls on the display. You can differentiate yourself from other bracelet owners thanks to a wide selection of straps, which are made of various materials from silicone through metal to leather.

Charge 5 boasts a wide range of sensors

Charge 5 offers measurements of heart rate (24 hours a day), ECG, blood oxygenation (SpO2) or sleep activity. Especially sleep measurement, the manufacturer has after many years of experience at an advanced level. There is also GPS (+ GLONASS) and water resistance 5 ATM, which will be appreciated especially by swimmers.

New are the Daily Readiness Score function for monitoring fatigue and the EDA sensor. It is used to measure the body’s response to stress. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection is also a new feature. Skin temperature measurement is also available. The NFC chip will again be used for Fitbit Pay contactless payments, which are supported by selected banks.

Without the Always-on display and blood oxygenation measurement turned on, the bracelet should last 7 days according to the manufacturer. When recording a route with GPS switched on, the endurance is stated to be approx. 5 hours. The bracelet is charged in less than 2 hours. The novelty is to go on sale in the fall for the price of 179.95 euros.
