‘The nurse asked if I was sure I wanted to name my daughter that’
After much deliberation you have finally found the perfect name for your baby and then complete strangers have unsolicited comments on it too.

“The child health nurse from the child health center came to take the heel prick and hearing test in the second week after Emma was born. However, she also felt it necessary to give her opinion on the name we had chosen. I was sure I wanted to name my daughter Emma, because she advised against it.

Excuse me? According to her Emma’s were very spicy children, I had to reconsider whether this was wise. Her comment hurt. We had chosen the name with so much love.
I wanted to file a complaint, but I was admitted after three weeks with postpartum depression, so I was already not feeling well at the time.”
